As a Wedding Planner and Wedding Floral Designer, one who has dedicated a few decades to creating wedding flower designs, I've been exposed to many different aspects of the wedding "successes" and "failures." The most daunting can be the timeline used for securing the many professionals who will either make or break the day.
In the field of wedding flowers the choice can be to secure your designer 6 or more months ahead of your wedding or as close as 4 months before. The relative importance in whom you will place your trust in to design your wedding flowers will have a bearing. As a floral designer who stands by the policy of only designing one wedding a week my calendar fills quickly, locking out those clients who wait a bit longer to explore their wedding flowers. And then there are those wedding florists who will fill their calendar with so much work that the seams wish to burst on their ability, leaving a lot of space for failure. Of course your selection in who will design your wedding flowers for you will be based on the level of importance, and belief, that you place in their value in creating the finished look translating into fabulous wedding images. Below is a look at a timeline to use as a rule to weigh against your own priorities.
